Sharing the Warmth

It’s no secret that I hate the winter. Hate hate hate. Loathe entirely. We could just skip over it entirely and I’d be happy.

Luckily, I have something in my possession that’s making things bearable. It’s a sweatshirt. It’s my new favorite sweatshirt. I love it more than I love a lot of sentient beings. Not even exaggerating.

Here’s how it came into my possession: Lauren reached out and asked if I’d be willing to do a product review for The Plaid Horse on the v-neck sweatshirt in their “Cozy” collection. I consider myself a connoisseur of cozy clothes (affectionately called “my comfs”), so I obviously jumped immediately at the chance.

And I haven’t taken it off since. In the 6 weeks or so that I’ve had it, it has been in every single load of laundry because I wear it every single day. As pajamas, as knockaround clothes, when I’m working from home, when I’m chilling on the couch. It’s amazing. The coral color is one of my favorites and hasn’t faded a bit (despite the constant washing and drying), the inside is delightfully soft and cozy, it’s lightweight and breathable, and I love the fit- the arms are snug enough to keep it in place, but the body is nice and loose and swingy.

IMG_1473
Tight where it should be, loose where it shouldn’t, and soft all over.

Just so you understand how impressive it is that this makes it into the rotation so often: I have an itty bitty tiny bedroom and got rid of a solid 70% of my clothes when I moved in, but I still have 3-4 drawers full of sweats and comfy clothes. And they are all for different occasions. I’ve got my day comfs and my night comfs, my semi-formal comfs for when the plumber comes and I don’t want to look entirely homeless (yoga pants are the tuxedo of sweatpants), my party comfs for when we’re breaking out some wine, my cute comfs for dates (no joke I broke out the sweats on Date 3 with Buddy Fianci. Reeled him in HARD). There is a comf for every season. This sweatshirt has superceded all these comfs for all occasions.

It’s cute enough for when I want to impress my guy with how great I look in loungewear. It’s soft enough to sleep in. It’s bright and fun enough for party time (and by party I mean drinking a little too much wine with my roommate and singing Disney songs poorly). It has the word “Horse” on it so clearly it satisfies that need. It is the comf to end all comfs.

This sweater pairs perfectly with a nice Cab Sauv

I don’t usually get this excited over a sweatshirt, but I am absolutely in love with this one and I want everyone to share in the warmth and joy that I’m getting from it.

And you can! It’s a Hellomylivia first- we have a giveaway! For your shot at winning your very own coziest of cozy sweaters in the size of your choosing, simply comment here with something that’s getting you through this nightmare of a season!

I’ll use a randomizer to pick the winner out of the entries, which will close at 10pm(ish) on Monday, January 29. May the comf be with you!

I have one too! I got it at Rolex this year and even though its way too big now (I lost 30lbs) it it’s still my go-to around the house shirt. When it still fit I wore it all the time!!

LOVE COMFY SWEATERS! Since I WFH, I pretty much only own “lounging comfy clothes” and breeches. #adultingftw

That really is super cute! Love it! And my wardrobe matches yours – I am in comfy clothes ALWAYS. Fleecy pants – check. Fleecy leggings – check. Fleecy breeches that double as leggings for work – check. So much cozy and warm!

But what’s really getting me through this season? Dachshund snuggles 😀

I LOVE it! The only thing getting me through this horrible winter is thinking about how much worse it is up North than it is in Texas!! Always have to look on the bright side!

I’ve never met a human outside my family/family friends who used the term “knockaround” when describing clothing. This thrills me.

Blanket scarves are getting me through this ridiculous winter we are having.
I can wear it as a scarf OR a blanket. #winning

This midwest winter has been quite terrible…what’s getting me through…quality friend time with a balance of netflix binge watching. Obviously best done in your favorite “comfs.” 🙂

This sweatshirt looks amazingly awesome. Winter has sucked terribly here, but I have a waxed down vest from LL Bean that is my absolute barn winter stable. Whether I have so many layers under it I resemble Staypuft or not, it’s awesome. It blocks the wind which is my favorite part.

My arctic sport muck boots are a cherished part of my winter barn wardrobe. Warm and dry feet are key!

Cute! I absolutely hate winter and it is really hard to find motivation to do anything, including going to the barn. I recently got a lunging setup for my guy (surcingle and Vienna reins) and that is how I have been making it though the winter; I can convince myself to brave the cold if I only have to lunge, and it is helping my giraffe of a gelding learn to work over his back and stay in shape over the winter. Yay!

I love soft things! The main thing getting me through the winter is my insulated muck boots that protect me from the cold and mud. Can’t stand to have cold feet!

Since I am so Canadian lol, ROOTS sweatshirts have been my saviour this winter. I wear it to school, work, the barn, and then it pretty much hits every load of laundry I motivate myself to do.

Super cute! I feel like I’m cheating cuz winter isn’t so bad down here but the dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home puts a major damper on my motivation to do anything but hibernate. Arena lights are the only things keeping me from curling into a ball and hiding until spring.

Yoga pants are the tuxedo of sweatpants!!! Yes!!! Best description ever of yoga pants!!! As for what gets me through winter… it’s probably my down comforter throw my parents got me for Christmas last year. It’s just a throw so I can snuggle on the couch with it but also have been using it on my bed on top of my quilt and it’s easy enough to adjust how much extra covering I want to stay warm 🙂

    Cute and comfy!!
I got a super comfy Christmas gift from hubby (he came up with the idea and picked it out all on his own!). These: https://www.ae.com/bottoms-aerie-play-high-waisted-pocket-legging-olive-fun/aerie/s-prod/0491_3936_331?cm=sUS-cUSD&catId=cat4980018

I have worn them everyday since Christmas. Slightly fuzzy, great for winter. Just a bit more than your standard legging. SO, SOOOOOOOOOOOO comfy. Also: pockets. I want to get 3 more pairs. And they will go great with your sweatshirt!

Cold weather is my absolute least favorite thing, which is really tough since I live in PA and the temperature fluctuates between “I live in a frozen wasteland” and “I’ve been warming up my car for 5 minutes and I still can’t feel my appendages.” I’m fairly certain that the only thing keeping me alive is a pair of reindeer fuzzy socks that I bought for like $1, but they’re adorable and cozy and make me smile every time I look at them! I’m a connoisseur of fuzzy socks and they keep me sane until spring/summer comes again. (I’m not convinced that winter will ever end though)

I am recovering from an injury and subsequent surgery, so watching online videos (hello, George Morris Horsemastership clinic) is getting me through this winter slump.
