Sandstone Show Videos

2’6″ Benefit Hunters: 1st out of 15ish. If I were to change one thing, I would hold out my corner a little more after the diagonal line. Other than that, I felt really great in this course!

3′ Working Hunters: 1st out of 2 womp womp. I chipped in to the near outside line and didn’t close my leg enough, so we took a flyer out of there. I wish I had also sat back a little sooner in the diagonal line, but I’m very glad she woahed and waited for the six with me.

Yesterday was super hot and Addy has been working very hard lately, so we just walked around for a while, went on a little trail ride, and then had a brief little gallop in the grass. Beastly loves to run. Our barn is in Lake Placid this week for the show so no lessons, but I’m sure I’ll have plenty to report!

Thank you!! I definitely think we’ll spend some time in the hunter ring now that she’s relaxing a bit 🙂 It’s fun to keep things mixed up!

These are GREAT! While I don’t suggest that you go back to Hunterland (because I’m selfish and I’ll make a jumper out of you yet 😉 ) you and Addy are really solid doin’ the Hunter thang! Good job!

Are you going to Lake Placid? That’s my favorite horse show. I love the ski jumps in the background.

    • hellomylivia 06/23/2015 / 6:55 pm

Sadly no, but a bunch of girls from my barn are there! They’ve been posting such gorgeous pictures, including the ski jumps 🙂

So smooth and effortless! What a different in tempo from the last hunter show, especially in the first video! Well done!

Thank you so much! It definitely felt like a completely different ride, she was so much more relaxed. I’m glad she’s starting to have more fun with it!

you guys look wonderful! your eq is great too – solid lower leg and general ‘effortless’ look that the hunters love. nice job!

    • hellomylivia 06/24/2015 / 10:28 am

Thank you so much!! I’m definitely working hard to improve my eq so Addy’s job will be easier!

Beautiful rounds! You are such a nice rider, and Addy has the CUTEST jump. She tucks her knees up to her eyeballs!!

    • hellomylivia 06/24/2015 / 1:35 pm

Thank you so much!!! She’s really been giving me such a great effort lately, it’s been a ton of fun 🙂

Wow, what a great round! You two are such a good team. (Those 3′ jumps look terrifying)

    • hellomylivia 06/29/2015 / 8:25 am

Thank you! You should totally pop Vinny over them (they ain’t got nothin on that stone wall)

      • Courtney 06/29/2015 / 11:13 am

Only if I can do the whole course with my eyes closed

      • hellomylivia 06/29/2015 / 11:14 am

I’ll tell Vinny the course so you don’t have to steer.

      • Courtney 06/29/2015 / 11:18 am

Good plan. Follow up: can you call my course the way they do in dressage? You could just scream instructions from the ingate.

      • hellomylivia 06/29/2015 / 12:16 pm

Go back and watch my videos from our jumper show. I will SCREAM instructions at you for every stride, just like my trainer does for me. It’s a great system.

      • Courtney 06/29/2015 / 1:28 pm

i’ll have to check it out! I usually have the sound muted. I feel like I missed a big part now

      • hellomylivia 06/29/2015 / 1:40 pm

My trainer and assistant trainer basically spend the whole time trying to remind me how to actually ride the darn horse. LOUDLY.
