I know, this looks super similar to last week’s post. We do live on these crossties.
But while my enthusiasm and yearning for spring knows no bounds, it is different when you’re responsible for a gray horse. Notice the mud stockings and mud neck adornment. It’ll be interesting when the blankets come off and she turns into a complete mud creature.
Lord give me strength.
PS- How cute is that face? I just want to squish her nose and give her kisses. Sweetest girl in the world.
So cute! I know that my horse is black, but since she moved to live outsideish 24/7 last summer, I have given up. She’s pretty much muddy always and that’s the way she likes it LOL.

Every horse I’ve ever worked with just LOVES the mud more than anything! I’m hoping to keep her clear of big clumps, but I think I should do what you do and let her live her happy muddy life haha

As soon as it warms up, she is getting hosed off on the reg. Until then she will just have to be a paint pony!

Our blankets are off and woof – having a grey is just so much fun. Not.
I washed him off today after I rode because it was so humid and he was so sweaty; he was 99% dry when I turned him out and he immediately rolled no less than 3 times. He stuck his head over the fence when I drove out by him and he was TOTALLY covered in dirt.

My old horse used to do that! Immediately after bathtime he would search out the muddiest puddle in the paddock to roll around. And then gloat. Filthy smug ponies.
