Snippet Saturday- Lint Traps

You probably already know this, but I think it bears repeating: EMPTY THE LINT TRAP IN YOUR DRYER! Not once a week. Not when you remember. Every. Single. Time. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do, and your clothes will dry so much faster. Not to mention you’re less likely to have a dryer fire break out. Do not press start without cleaning the lint trap!

Do it!

(OK I’m done.)

Good advice. I knew a family that had a house fire that started from that.

Now, if you have any follow up advice for convincing my husband to actually throw away the lint instead of leaving it on top of the dryer, that would be great!

I’ll admit that I’m also a culprit of leaving the lint lying there… I’m gonna go find a cute trash bin to keep next to the dryer and see if that helps!

You’d be surprised at how many people don’t! I always thought this was common sense too, but I’ve lived with people that had no idea!

I religiously empty the lint trap. And floss. Sometimes when I’m really ambitious, I even compost the lint.

Yup. I read it somewhere. I also just composted the hair from my Golden Retriever (my husband just gave him a puppy cut). I’m kind of addicted to composting. I’m not a real science-y type, but it’s fascinating how random scraps of food and the like can be turned into such excellent garden soil. It’s almot like magic.
