Slow Days

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Sadly, mine did not go as planned. Our work-hard flatwork didn’t happen on Sunday because of the bitter cold, and because of this snow storm we’re getting tonight, it looks like no riding today either.

Combined with some sort of virus that won’t go away, I’m feeling more than ready for spring to come around!

I’m headed to the docs during lunch to see if this could be a mono relapse, but I’m hoping it’s just a version of the flu. Whatever it is, I just want to treat it so my energy can come back.

More iffy news: because of our inconsistent work due to the weather, I’ve decided to postpone our first show. We would probably be fine, but I want to go into it feeling super prepared and ready for anything, and I need some more consistency in my own riding before I feel that way. It doesn’t hurt that postponing means it’ll be warmer when we do go out… I’m hopeful that a little extra prep time will get us both feeling great!

With luck, we will return to our regularly scheduled programming very soon!

Thank you! Just got word that it’s not the flu, strep, or mono, so hopefully a few days of rest will kick this thing.

Aww feel better. Definitely stinks you have to postpone the show, but the time will fly by, and you’ll be better prepared!

Hope you feel better soon! I’ll definitely be crossing my fingers too. This storm is screwing all of us over…

Thank you! I just keep adding to my “must try” list of exercises to work on with Addy, so we have plenty to work on once the weather improves!

I didn’t until I did my “2014 in Review” blog post and realized I pretty much had zero horse time from January to March because of the horrid weather. Looks like this year might be the same. This HAS to be my last winter in Ohio….get me outta here!

I moved south to Virginia from Rhode Island and thought it would be warmer- boy was I wrong! I may need to continue southward…

Oh, gosh. Hope you’re feeling better soon! I had noticed you weren’t posting every day like normal and worried a bit! I also thought maybe you had escaped for a warm vacation – guess that was me just hoping for you, lol.

As much as I wish showing in the winter makes sense, it just doesn’t a lot of the time. Roads are more dangerous, horses are more up, and it’s just not as fun. Makes the winter harder to deal with, though 😦

I feel so bad, I’ve been writing a lot slower the last few days! My office is closed today and I think it’s just the rest I need to kick this bug so hopefully I’ll be back on schedule! I wish it was for a long vacation!!

I think the coldest I’ve been in my life was a winter show- waiting til warmer weather is sounding like a better and better idea.
